We’re excited to share a milestone for our community: Rainbow Warrior Roundup of Texas is now officially formed as a nonprofit organization.
For years, the Roundup has been held together by friendship, generosity, volunteer energy, and a whole lot of people stepping up to make things happen. Creating a formal organization gives us a stronger foundation for the future — especially when it comes to managing finances, planning responsibly, and making sure the Roundup can continue to grow and thrive from year to year.
Our Board is made up of five members:
- Martin Sunday (Golden Eagle)— President
- Earl Tom Barksdale (Perceptive Moose) — Treasurer
- Abraham Martinez (Curious Python) — Secretary
- Peter Jude Gustafson (Calm Tiger) — Co-Sovereign / Annual Event Director
- Dr. Kevin Prentice (Powerful Grizzly Bear)— Co-Sovereign / Annual Event Director
Kevin and I are serving as this year’s Co-Sovereigns, carrying forward the Roundup tradition of annual leadership while working alongside the continuing Board to keep the organization grounded and moving forward.
Planning for the 2027 Rainbow Warrior Roundup is already underway, and we’re grateful to have a growing team helping bring it all together.
Orlando Loya (Wise) is serving as our Outrech Coordinator, helping keep planning, communication, and the many moving pieces connected.
Richard Schusterman (Hugging Cheetah/Cuddles) is serving as our Travel / Ride Share Coordinator, helping attendees connect around transportation and making it easier for everyone to get where they need to be.
There is much more to come as planning continues, and we’re excited about what this next chapter makes possible.
At its heart, the Roundup is still what it has always been: a place for connection, friendship, laughter, reflection, and community. The new organization simply gives us a better structure to support that work and help carry it forward.
We’re grateful to everyone who has helped build the Roundup over the years, and to everyone stepping up now to help shape what comes next.
More soon.
Jude
